Hopeless Ambitions, Part 1

if you become an avid follower of my blog, you are bound to discover that i have a lot of off-the-wall ideas. i also have a lot of off-the-wall ambitions... things which most people wouldn't even have cross their minds. as the title suggests, said ambitions are relatively hopeless because i will most likely never have the opportunity to do them... but, dammit, i'll try! i have decided to occassionally blog about these unusual things i have always wanted to do. what a fitting first post! Hopeless Ambition #1: Driving a Jet Bridge what is a jet bridge? a jet bridge is the long, enclosed ramp connecting an airplane to the airport terminal gate. for example:

outside of a jet bridge.

well, the long and short of it is that i have always wanted to drive one of these things. upon entering the airplane, there it is: the sweet 1970's-video-game-style control panel. it was love at first sight... i knew that i had to operate it.

actually, just figuring out that one of these things is called a "jet bridge" makes me pretty happy. after many failed googles, i finally found it. thank you, yahoo answers! :)
